This style of painting first developed from using the edge of a Nectar card (or other credit/store card in order to add a straight line. This then led to the dragging of the card across the surface. Once dry, the texture can then be built by dragging the card with more or less paint depending on what was required. The result is a semi-abstract, textured finish, often produced en plein air.
